Ladies and Gentlemen of Tumblr. This is a video story on Dr. Erika Brady, professor of Folk Studies at Western Kentucky University and the host of Barren River Breakdown, a public radio show dedicated to American Music with roots. She received a Governor’s Award in the Arts for her work in media.
She is also my mentor in life, the universe, and everything. I’ve known her for around 15 years. She’s the reason I became a folklorist. And she’s among the most interesting human beings on the planet. The woman has stories that will literally knock your socks off.
This video, though it only scratches the surface, is a nice tribute to a dear friend. Congratulations Erika. You are a treasure.
